In a real life world that cannot go more than a few weeks without seeing the "N-Word" being used by entertainers, rappers and leaders, it is refreshing to see a novel that focuses on the streets do mostly without it. With no cursing, coupled with visceral, gut-wrenching passages, 'Lit Up' is arguably the most extreme, unconventional example of a Christian novel. Uncompromising, the name Jesus is only mentioned one time.
